Cozaint

What does Cozaint do?

Cozaint makes systems for Intelligent Video Lifecycle Management. Recordings go to fast storage for immediate access, and all video is automatically replicated to highly secure, low-cost LTO tape, so organizations can keep their video for months or years instead of deleting it.

Why was Cozaint founded?

For over thirty years, organizations have had to lower camera resolution, shorten retention and overwrite valuable video because hard drive storage is so expensive. Cozaint was founded in 2018 to end that compromise.

What products does Cozaint offer?

Specialized systems including MARCIA, askALICE, ALICE1 and the BOBBY security kiosks. Use the tabs above to see questions about each one.

Who uses Cozaint?

Government agencies, law enforcement and high-liability businesses that need to preserve video for compliance, investigations and legal protection.

Is Cozaint a certified small business?

Yes. Cozaint is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), which can simplify public procurement.

How do I reach Cozaint?

Call 760-975-8000 or email info@cozaint.com. Cozaint has offices in Palmetto Bay, Florida and San Diego, California.

MARCIA

What is MARCIA?

MARCIA is Cozaint's Intelligent Video Lifecycle Management. It keeps recent video ready, moves retained video under policy, and returns requested history through a defined operator workflow.

Is MARCIA patented?

Yes. MARCIA is a patented technology.

Will MARCIA change how my team works?

No. Your video management system keeps doing its normal work, and your team keeps working while video moves. Operators get a consistent experience.

What decides which video moves, and when?

Retention rules that you set. Policy governs what moves and when, aligned to your retention requirements.

What problem does it solve?

Most surveillance systems record continuously, fill their storage and overwrite older video. The trouble starts when yesterday's footage becomes today's evidence. MARCIA helps you keep that history.

Where can I read more?

The MARCIA page has the position paper and the eBook on the architecture, and the product team can walk you through them. Contact us to get started.

ALICE1

What is ALICE1?

ALICE1 is a self-contained LTO video surveillance recorder with unlimited video storage, built for the compliance and retention needs of small to medium businesses.

Do I need to change my video management system?

No. ALICE1 plays archived footage back inside your existing VMS timeline, with no separate login or interface. It is VMS agnostic and works with 60+ vendors.

How much can it save compared with adding hard drives?

Cozaint's published figures show up to 60% cost savings compared with expanding hard drive storage, and a total cost of ownership up to 64% lower than disk-only storage over a multi-year retention window.

Does it protect against ransomware?

Archived recordings are immutable once written to tape, and tapes on the shelf are air-gapped from your network.

How do I add capacity?

Add a tape instead of buying a new server. An LTO9 tape holds 18TB of native capacity.

Where is it made?

ALICE1 is made in the USA and is TAA and NDAA compliant.

askALICE

What is askALICE?

askALICE is Cozaint's two-tier storage system for video surveillance. A small, fast disk tier handles recent video, and original unaltered video is copied to LTO tape for complete long-term retention.

Isn't tape slow?

Operators don't deal with the tape. They use the normal video timeline and pick any moment. Video still on disk plays right away. Video that has moved to tape takes a few minutes of transfer time to bring back.

Will I have to lower my video quality?

No. Original video is kept unaltered, with no reduction in resolution or frame rate.

How much can I save?

In Cozaint's published example, 400 cameras kept for 90 days (about 2.25 petabytes) cost about $131,800 with askALICE, compared with about $326,800 for hard drives only, roughly 60% less. Your numbers depend on your cameras, resolution and retention window, so request an assessment for a quote.

How long does tape last?

LTO tape is rated for up to 30 years of archival shelf life. Hard drives typically need replacing every 3 to 4 years.

Do I need to replace my video management system?

No. askALICE works with Cozaint's BOBBYvms and integrates with partnering VMS vendors through a handful of standard calls. Ask us about yours.

How big can it grow?

From gigabytes to petabytes. You add tape capacity instead of servers.

Who is it for?

Cities and agencies with retention rules, businesses defending against old claims such as restaurants, and any organization that wants more cameras and longer retention without a runaway storage bill.

BOBBY Tower

What is BOBBY Tower?

BOBBY Tower is a self-sufficient smart security kiosk. It has four 1080p cameras for a 360-degree view, a 27-inch touchscreen, two-way audio, LED lights and a siren, and sensors for smoke, motion and door or window access.

Is a person watching?

Every subscription includes access to Cozaint's Agent Monitoring Platform, so a live agent can see alerts and verify them on the tower's cameras. Visitors can talk to the agent through the tower using two-way audio, or press the panic button.

Where is BOBBY Tower used?

Shopping malls, hospitals, universities, K-12 schools, government buildings, theme parks, convention centers, sports venues, HOAs and condos, construction sites, shipping and logistics centers, and temporary events. The Pascua Yaqui Police Department uses one as a community safe zone.

What does it cost?

BOBBY Tower is a monthly subscription, and leasing agreements are possible. Contact Cozaint for a quote for your site.

What are the optional add-ons?

Some analytics are extra cost. Facial recognition, license plate reading, and gunshot and scream detection can be added to a tower, but they are not included in the base unit.

What does installation involve?

You provide standard 110VAC power and a network connection. The ground plate anchors to the site, then the tower sections are stacked, cables are connected through the access port, and the unit is powered up. The spec sheet has the full steps and dimensions.

How big is it, and what is the warranty?

About 6½ feet tall (79 in), 19 in wide and 38 in deep, weighing 286 lb, with a 2-year warranty and a limited-maintenance design.

How does it connect?

By WiFi, wired Ethernet (CAT6e) or cellular.
